The Maidens Park Primary School Board has implemented the following Dress Code in consultation with the school community. Consultation and revision of the policy are ongoing and subject to change by the Board for the betterment of the school.
The School Board believes the Dress Code will:
We encourage all children to wear uniform items every day to school.
Polo shirts - $26.00
Leavers polo shirts (year 6 only) - $26.00
Zip-up jackets - $30.00
Broadbrim hat - $9.00
Staff will focus on the positive promotion of the school dress code.
Families are informed of the School Dress Code upon enrolment; changes to the School Dress Code will be in writing as approved by the School Board.
Families experiencing financial difficulties and unable to purchase uniforms can discuss their options with the principal.
Families can apply to the principal for an exemption from the School Dress Code.
For the health and well-being of the child, it is necessary that students are clean and well-groomed, as this will help them to develop and maintain a positive self-image.
Sometimes, the children will be asked to remove their shoes and socks to gain the optimum value from a gross motor activity such as climbing on the outdoor structures, moving to music, playing in the undercover sandpit, etc. (sand-filled shoes present a cleaning issue.) Teachers assess each situation to ensure the safety and well-being of every child.
School uniform tops and hats are available for purchase from the school office. Bottoms can be purchased from any retailer. Please mark all items with your child’s name. Name tapes or a laundry or permanent-ink pen work well for labelling.
We trust that parents and carers will fully support this School Dress Code to ensure all children's health and well-being, including a sense of belonging, pride, and positive self-image.
The policy shall be reviewed every two (2) years or as necessary to reflect the needs of our community.
The next review date will be February 2026
