Student Leadership

Maidens Park Primary School

At Maidens Park Primary School, we believe every student has the ability to lead, contribute, and make a positive difference in our school community.

Our student leadership model is designed to empower all Year 6 students by providing meaningful leadership opportunities through a distributed leadership model.

Leadership for All

We are proud to offer a model where every Year 6 student has the opportunity to be a leader. Rather than limiting leadership to a few select roles, we ensure all students can experience the responsibility and pride that comes with helping our school thrive.

How It Works

Each term, students from one of our school factions take on leadership responsibilities across the school. This rotating system means that by the end of the year, every Year 6 student has contributed as a leader in a variety of roles.

Leadership responsibilities may include:

Supporting younger students in the playground or classrooms

Assisting with school events and assemblies

Representing student voice through meetings and feedback

Promoting positive behaviour and school values

Taking care of school environment and resources

Building Skills and Confidence

Our student leadership model helps students develop essential life skills such as communication, teamwork, responsibility, and initiative. It also fosters a strong sense of belonging and pride in their school.

By giving all students the opportunity to lead, we are nurturing future-ready learners who are confident, capable, and community-minded.

At Maidens Park, leadership isn’t just about a badge, it’s about making a difference.
